This week has been a bit different regarding my brainstorm process. This is because I have been working on a piece this past week which has taken most of my creative energy. I am drawing a picture of a lady playing the piano using my most common medium, charcoal on canvas. I have a long list of things I want do draw with this medium. I have finally motivated to start with this first. The piece was challenge for me to see if I was able to draw with charcoal on a larger scale on canvas. I have discovered that it is possible and looks pretty cool. I chose the subject of a lady playing a piano purely because it is a beautiful image. There is no strong message behind the piece. I will be trying to mix and match patterns and surrealistic themes in my future drawings. I just wanted to make sure that I could draw images accurately on this scale. For example, my next piece will contain a couch with a flannel pattern with a girl with a polka-dot patterned dress. This will just be to experiment contrasting patterns directly interacting. I think exploring patterns is necessary when studying a black and white medium. As far as my digital art project, I have a solid idea. I will be filming myself driving through a pretty mountain range from the shot gun seat. Then I will animate the background world out the window. It will all be accompanied by a song.
