I made a piece based on the reality that as our Mother Earth dies before our eyes, we remain self obsessed, getting prettier and prettier. We live in a world where it is our natural instinct to worry immensely to how others perceive our physical traits. At the same time. We are actively producing, consuming, and destroying natural resources in a cycle of late stage capitalist terror. We cannot go anywhere without seeing an advertisement. no where. We are forced to focus on ourselves and buy into the system of consuming. This had motivated me to make a charcoal drawing representing this almost self destructive nature of our current world. I used artificial intelligence to develop an image of a melting doll. The doll of course representing the ideal beauty standards. The act of melting is a direct respresentation of our world melting away under the ozone layer being melted away from emissions.
